Halo 5 is one of the biggest titles announced for Xbox One so far. Halo has always been a huge franchise for Microsoft, ever since the release of Combat Evolved led to millions of players buying the original Xbox. Microsoft are hoping that Halo 5 can give the same sized boost for the Xbox One
We know Halo 5 is set to be one of the massive games of 2015, but what do we actually know about the plot?
The majority of what we know comes from the cinematic trailer from E3 2013. It begins with a cloaked figure walking through a desert whilst a robot rises into the air through the sand. The figure inspects a dog tag whilst the robot releases a blast of wind, knocking off the figure's cloak revealing it's Masterchief.
A large amount of info has been leaked surrounding the plot, Microsoft denied the legitimacy of any of it and it was also fairly generic stuff making it fairly unimportant.
The box art for Halo 5 shows an armored figure standing in the desert whilst a reflection of Masterchief is beneath him. Producers have said that this will be a brand new character.
343 Industries' Bonnie Ross confirmed in an E3 2014 interview that this character is named Agent Locke. Apart from that we know little else.
Though this character is featured on the cover more than Masterchief, it has been confirmed that he will not be the star, and Guardians will be a continuation of Masterchief's story.
