Destiny is one of the best games played by GMLG. It is the first of it's kind as it is the first FPS MMO. This means players are able to experience the game in a shared world, with PvE and PvP elements. Players act as Guardians who protect the last city on Earth and utilise a power known as the Light.
We play in groups of three using the class system. (Warlock/Titan/Hunter). As a result of the class system used, if you are looking to set up game sessions with other GMLG members, it's advisable to create a group of three, each person taking an individual class. This will allow you to play together on modes such as Strikes for example.
We play a variety of modes such as Crucible, Strikes and Raids. Crucible is the PvP section of Destiny, and includes different modes such as objectives and deathmatch. Strikes are 3 player missions where Guardians have to navigate a map to defeat a final boss or complete an objective. A raid is a six player co-op missions which tend to be the most different missions within the game, due to minimal guidance and difficult enemies, however they are often the most rewarding in terms of equipment and XP.
Destiny combines aspects from different games. Being a Bungie game there are many similarities to the Halo series, in terms of character design and setting and player statistics. The combat system is similar to that of Titanfall due to the maneuverability however player customisation is completely unique. Players can customise different parts of their Guardians armor such as chest, helmet, gauntlet and legs. The rarer and higher level pieces of armor provide greater protection. The best parts of armor are often found via raids or strikes. In terms of weapons each player can carry a primary, secondary and heavy weapon. Weapons range in terms of class and therefore damage. Weapons and armor have individual values of light. Meaning the better players have a higher overall light value. The levelling system is standardised and caps out at Level 40.
